  • ​Concerto for solo cello and string orchestra
  • Dedicated to Bangladeshi secular writers and survivors of political violence
  • Structured around the Five Stages of Grief (Kubler-Ross)
Manusa tells a human story of facing political violence. Composed for cellist Nicholas Finch, it honors those targeted for exercising free speech in Bangladesh since 2013. The work also speaks to more recent acts of mass violence, using the Kübler-Ross Five Stages of Grief model as an organizing musical principle.
