Thirtydust Hearts is a detective novel written by Shim Nightweaver and published in 1439. It may be categorized as a whodunit. It is a book in the Canton Bars / Sonnere Sisters series.
Mangled toenails have been turning up all over Thirtydust City and the citizens are scared. Ten murders in ten weeks, all committed with a katana, and still nobody has a clue who the malicious killer is.
Simon Welch is a sleazy, alcoholic rat-catcher with a fondness for star gazing. He just recently awoke from suspended animation and returns home to meet his husband, folk musician William Cady.
When Cady is kidnapped, Welch finds himself in the center of the investigation. His only clue is a ribbed book left at the crime scene.
He enlists the help of a thoughtful doctor named Wenda Siegel.
After realizing the ribbed book had Dr. Siegal's signature, Welch realizes that she is the killer and has been having an affair with Cady the entire time.
Welch proceeds to murder Cady and Siegel, only to discover the entire town is actually a constructed reality television show and that he's the antagonist. He is convicted of first degree murder.
Everyone else in town admits to being werewolves.
